Welcome to Abluo. We are a relatively new company but have been formed to run alongside our sister company Avena Herbal Products www.avena.co.uk which has been in the business of blending and manufacturing plant infusion, natural beauty & medicated products for over ten years now. We are a traditional family business based in the Yorkshire Dales and are dedicated to producing the highest quality products made from maximum strength and completely natural ingredients. We have a wide range of luxury beauty products, natural remedies, bath and gift products.

We retail our products directly here from our web site but we also supply wholesale to reputable retailers worldwide and we find our products are becoming more widely available in the high street.

At Abluo we only use NATURAL INGREDIENTS, no chemical or animal additives are ever used. We do not AND NEVER HAVE TESTED ON ANIMALS. The companies we buy our ingredients from also have strict no testing on animals policies.

Due to E.E.C. legislation we can't print certain product information either here on the web site, in leaflets or on the products themselves for example in our descriptions we use the word 'reputed' a lot when reffering to the benefits of essential oil ingredients, this is because these are natural (unproven) remedies and we can't, by law state that say lavender is good for assisting sleep even though it has been used for this for thousands or years. The law

Most herbal remedies are unlicensed, this means a manufacturer (such as Abluo) can’t make validated claims for the products efficiency, this does not mean they are deficient in any way, only that no specific claims for the product can be made as to it’s value in treating particular medical conditions (no matter how much excellent customer feedback we may get) This means nothing can be shown on the label indicating a product may be good for a specific condition. We have worked closely with trading standards and found we can state ingredients are reputed to be beneficial but can't say they definitely are. The fact that they are unlicensed need not be a cause for concern as by the nature of our natural products the information on the use of herbs and essential oils has built up over thousands of years, used by different cultures around the world and passed down to us in most cases through tradition and folklore. Only recently are scientists and medical researchers now starting to establish that there are many genuine claims in the old apothecary tales.

To comply with the law we don’t want to make any misleading claims for our unlicensed products. This may be a drawback for us and some customers but the law is there to protect us all from what might be false claims.
